Satisfying lightsaber combat is still a hard nut to crack and while The Old Republic is doing a decent job of it over on the MMO front, there's still an itch out there that's waiting to be scratched.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Mac, Star Destroyer Tip
The latest Star Wars Humble Bundle is a reminder that there's still a new Star Wars action game just waiting to be made, even if LucasArts is no longer with us. Starkiller's adventure may not be perfect, but it's a fine look into an unseen chapter of the Expanded Universe and a good prototype of the type of incredible Star Wars experience that could still one day emerge. Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years.
But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
Star Wars®: The Force Unleashed™ on the Mac App Store
Ozzie Mejia posted a new article, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: I played the shit out of that demo. It was fun picking things up and throwing them. Force unleashed 2 was a game that hit all the right notes. It was super short, but it was great.
Growing up Sith
It showed promise as to what a great action based game with the SW license could be. Don't know whats gonna happen with all that now. I played through this whole game this past weekend. I swear, they'd have had a masterpiece if the first game had been made to the 2nd game's polish. Also - not to split hairs, but the biggest flaw of FU1 was the camera lock on all boss fights. Most of the bosses were easy, but fighting the camera is never a great experience. On PC anyway, I didn't find the saber combat to be too bad, but none got it as right as jedi academy in my opinion not that it was awesome in that, but at least it felt better.
FU2 got this right, by not only having no camera lock, but by having the ability to lock starkiller's perspective on one opponent at a time. Already have an account? Login Now.

Some of these codes do not work on the PC version. This game is pure, unadulterated cancer. I don't know who the people are who love this game. I'm a star wars fan as much as the next and this game is a disgrace to everything star wars and gaming in general. Do not waste your time playing the entire game like I did. Updated Review. I contacted Aspyr directly and they were able to email me a steam activation code. I am downloading it now. I really appreciate them standing behind their product. I had previously tried Apple Support, but since this is a third party developer, they were not able to assist me. Since the disc does play and the application is on the disc, I did not contact the seller. Game was sealed in box and worked almost perfectly. The game would occasionally crash on startup but I think that was probably a computer issue on my end.
I have a brand new iMac If you go to [ The graphics are great at the higher resolutions, but you play at a snail's pace a friend has the XBOX version, and it is 10x faster than the fastest on this version. Well, the long wait is over for Mac users, our version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is here, and I'm feeling a bit let down.
My advice to Mac owners is to pass on buying this game, unless Aspyr comes out with a patch for Mac that lets us use it with the various Logitech gamepads, like they did with the PC version. If you're a Logitech gamepad user, like myself, you'll be pretty pissed off that--even though Aspyr has supported the Logitech controllers for PC users--they are not currently supporting Logitech gamepads on the Mac platform.
I wrote to tech support, and got confirmation of this but no explanation. For me the fact that my logitech gamepad won't work really reduces my enjoyment of this sort of action-based game. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed plays a lot like The Tomb Raider Anniversary Addition game, and if you tried to play that both with and without a gamepad on the Mac, you'll pretty much know exactly what I mean.
I'm at the point where I'm not sure that I'll keep playing it. Don't get me wrong, NWN2 was great with a keyboard, but this just isn't that kind of game. What is apparently supported on the Mac platform is an Xbox controller. We're Mac users, most of us are not going to run out and spend a bunch of cash on a Microsoft controller, that will probably never work with another Mac Platform game. That would effectively be more than doubling the cost of this game.
If Aspyr does come out with a Logitech gamepad Mac patch for this game, I think at that point it will be well worth the money to buy Star Wars:
